Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Jamie W — 19 Mar 2010
Strange movie...shocking yet titillating. Nicole Kidman pulled out all the stops in acting out this part. However I did NOT like Robert Downey, Jr., in his role as Lionel Sweeney. He mumbled his way through the script and displayed almost no body or facial language for the part.
Jane Alexander made a powerful dominating matriarch but her role wasn't large enough. I don't know anything about Diane Arbus (going to research her after done with this review). But I did understand how "uptight" she was in the beginning (restrained hairdo) and how she "loosened up" at the end (hair loose and flowing).
WARNING: NOT a kids' movie...only for adults with open minds...
