Review of Funny People (2009) by Leo W — 30 Aug 2012
An Apatow movie that feels like an episode of Family Guy where we are waiting for the scene to end or for someone to do something and it just keeps going and going, like when Peter falls down and grabs his knee.
Sandler tries to be drool but I kept wondering if he was ever funny as this character or what quality he had that made him famous. Rogan plays a novice comedian, perhaps he reminds Sandler of himself when he was new to the game, but he displays an enthusiasm and a talent that has left Sandler.
The length of the movie tries to draw empathy from the audience but really just made me look at the clock.
