Easily one of the best films in the Streisand oeuvre. Her debut role in which she reprise her Broadway starring role as comedienne Fanny Brice. While the fictionalized accounts of her life and her marriage to and relationship with conman Nicky Arnstein provide the plot, La Streisand provides the music.
It's as much her story as it it Brice's. Excellent supporting cast from Kay Medford, Walter Pidgeon and Omar Sharif.
