The show has "oomph," but struggles with uninspired directing, an overrated score, soporific straight scenes, and the fact that it's Barbra Streisand. This isn't to say that she isn't talented, but I could never get past the "Oh, it's Streisand" thoughts to believe her as Fanny Brice.
