Excellent, but very, very disturbing, unrelenting, and unsettling film. Violent, yes (even though much of it is off-screen) but done with a purpose - to make us question "violence as entertainment" in the media.
This is NOT "torture porn" -- it is more an indictment of it. Even if you can't make it all the way through the film, be sure to watch the interview w/ the director afterwards. Ten years later (2008), he remade this film shot for shot for Hollywood.
