Review of Funny Games (1997) by Stephen E — 24 Sep 2012
Indifference is what I mainly feel towards "Funny Games." It isn't a good film or a bad one. It isn't quality entertainment, but there are few moments where you'll actually be bored.
If anything, "Funny Games" is an experience. Not necessarily an experience that you'll enjoy, but one that you'll remember. As for me, there were parts where I sat engrossed and then parts where I felt manipulated.
It's cruel, pretentious and somewhat pointless, but overall, an eerie experience. That scene where the golf ball rolls out in front of the door turned me to stone.
