If you have ever seen a horror film, or any film with violence in it, you should watch Funny Games.
Whether you will recognise that it is talking to you is another matter entirely.
Like Pasolini's Salo, an inspiration for Haneke here, Funny Games is a necessary entry into the cinematic canon, if not necessarily an enjoyable one.
