Review of Funny Games (1997) by Page P — 15 Sep 2015
I have to be honest. I truly don't understand why people thought this was scary or brings out suspense in any way. The beginning starts out interesting hoping for the killer's to keep this movie shaking towards the end.
I apologize, but this movie completely fails in every way. Please let me explain why. The cat and mouse script is not the problem, the acting of the killer's are very annoying and obnoxious in not a scary way at all.
If anything, you actually hope for the victims to stay alive and get there revenge upon them. Did that happen in this movie? Absolutely not!! A woman kills one of them, and the other killer decides to rewind the part to have another chance being a whiny baby about it.
It was very discouraging and disrespectful for the victims to not have a chance to get what the killers deserved. The umbrage is a continuance in this film from the killers and makes you feel like you have to finish this film to hope to see them die.
Did that happen? Not at all which is even worse. Pushing a woman in the water tied up while you are laughing and have a cocky attitude about it really destroys the purpose for this film to be horrifying in sort of way.
By far the worse and most annoying horror movie I have ever seen a not scary whats so ever. Everyone dies in the most predictable way possible and very fast. This is hard to say, but I thought Batman and Robin was better than this movie far out.
