Review of Funny Face (1932) by Julio R — 20 Dec 2008
Audrey Hepburn may be the most beautiful woman who ever lived but she's a insane in this movie. Funny Face just doesn't hold up. All the songs are forgetful except the second one at the cafe. There is no chemistry between Fred Astaire and Hepburn and even if there was the romance would not be believable.
Did people actually like this back in the day? I like romantic movies but I've got to buy into both the chemistry and the situation. Funny Face had neither.
