Review of Fruitvale Station (2013) by Marischa B — 02 Mar 2014
The true story of the death of Oscar Grant.
A young ex con decides his going to change his life before new years 2009, by dumping his drugs in the ocean, wishing his mother happy birthday, Loving his daughter, and making it work with his long term girlfriend, yet eager to find a job, he struggles the day forwards.
I haven't live in a film like this in a very long time, I could feel the issues, the worries, all the emotion piling up..it was like I was there, Living in his shoes for that moment.
It all comes down to this...he died in a way no one should!!! an accident leads to a tragedy, to be shot by a cop while in cuffs...can you believe this???? while thousands of people recorded it on their cameras and their cellphones. probably if it wasn't for those recordings, justice wouldn't provide, so thanks to all the people who stepped up for Oscar!!!! R.I.P Oscar Grant!!!! A+++.
