Review of Frozen (2013) by Dan C — 26 Nov 2014
I think some people, Anthony Lawrie for one, should remember what film he is actually reviewing.
Basing a review against a target audience would be a good place to start I think. I would say the larger majority of children (yes Anthony, this film is targeted at children) won't notice the socialist/royalist contradiction.
If realism on this level is your concern Anthony, I suggest you take note of the talking Snowman and Troll rather than political messages.
You see its a children's film, filled with fantastical charecters and storylines. And considering the film is a world wide phenomenon and every little girl under 7 that I've seen is besotted with it, I'd say Disney knocked this one out of the park.
If detailed analysis of plot and storyline is your area of 'expertise', maybe review a film targeted at adults.
I thought the film was great. Disney fantasy and escapism at its best. and my four year old daughter, I think, feels the same.
