Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Luca D — 02 Oct 2012
After Dr No's admirable but somewhat patchy introduction I see the considerable jump in quality, better story, better characters and Barry's score up's things considerably after Norman's pedestrian effort.
Shaw is still the best henchman and his interactions with Connery are some of the most memorable of the series. Plus the best use of a train to date in a Bond film, for me this is Connery at his pinnacle, witty, deadly and confident, still for me his best film and my third favourite film of the series.
This looks a treat on Blu ray and has aged considerably well.
