Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Scott A — 10 Apr 2013
While I really couldn't quite get into Dr. No, the second Bond film was just flat out better. Probably call it Bond On A Train, as most of film takes place on one. I really dug the entire cast, as Connery seems like he really owns the role this time out, and Robert Shaw makes for a great villain. And Daniela Bianchi is just gorgeous and her character is totally adorable.
The seem to start letting Bond have more gadgets this time, Q is introduced as well.
The action was pretty fantastic, especially the lake chase, but oddly the ending is kind of a let down for a fight.
I assume this is where the Dr. Evil from Austin Powers came about, with the un-faced man in his chair petting the cat and killing his henchmen that let him down? Very intrigued by this.
