Review of From Paris with Love (2010) by Corey B — 27 Nov 2010
This really didn't work for me. Sure Travolta is having fun, and is the best part of the movie, but Morel never really gives you any reason to care why any of this is happening. For a good hour, it's just the same note over and over again. Travolta and Meyers enter a building. Meyers is timid, Travolta isn't. Ass-kicking ensues by Travolta.
Then suddenly, they're friends. The beat comes out of nowhere especially considering the previous scene shows Meyers getting royally pissed at Travolta for letting five cops march in to their death.
To make matters worse the final act has the two splitting up to take care of two separate assassination attempts. Meyers character is completely boring, so watching him handle things on his own, while Travolta's off having fun with a rocket launcher doesn't end the movie on a high note.
