This is the movie you watch as a palate cleanser after you're honey sits you through The Notebook or Dear John. It should not be taken seriously. It's a guilty pleasure guy movie in terms of action and violence.
You WILL figure the end of the movie out in about 15 minutes (the roof scene with the girlfriend making dinner for her man), but it doesn't really matter.
