Review of From Paris with Love (2010) by Ollie W — 10 Dec 2011
Besson's obsession with campy, borderline racist, B-grade action films was just about bearable with Liam Neeson at the helm, but this time around, with Rhys Meyers irritating gurn and an inexplicably tanned and chubby Travolta, tearing up scenery and gobbling down crappy sequences with gusto, things never even remotely convince.
Add to that the atrocious dialogue, terrible attempts at comedy and the fact that anyone with a foreign accent is either stupid, corrupt or a suicide bomber means that for any remotely intelligent person, this is a truly grating experience.
