Review of From Here to Eternity (1953) by Robert H — 06 Mar 2015
Aside from the final 20 minutes, From Here to Eternity is mostly a waste of time. It's filled with unlikeable characters doing unpleasant things. It also presents the military as a bunch of stubborn and selfish drunkards who had nothing better to do than fight each other and sleep around until the attack on Pearl Harbor.
I don't see how this film won Best Picture.
