Review of Fright Night (1985) by Bill M — 21 Apr 2009

Watch this film now, fright night is a right laugh, it's just great fun, even if you dont like horror films you will like this. Basicly, a new neighbor moves in next door to this kid whose really in to his horror films and the kid finds out that this neighbor is a vampire who has been killing girls in the local area, but the vampire knows that the kid knows his secret, so the kid enlists the help of a has been, burnt out actor who used to be a vampire killer in loads of old horror films and says he knows a thing or two.

Since he's kinda down on his luck he teams up with the kid the help kill the vampire before it comes for him in his room that night. It's a fantastic and underrated film, and formed the basis for the shia labouf starring "disturbia" recently.

That film is great but this is shitloads better. It has great characters and still brilliant looking special effects, it's very funny and even pre dated "scream", with the whole post modern black comedy horror approach.

It also features the coolest fucking vampire in film history, even more so than kiether sutherlands david from the lost boys and indeed even sexier (fuck you, I can appreciate when a dude is hot) Chris sarandon as jerry dandridge is the most seductive bloodsucking motherfucker (and he would fuck your mother) there is, robert pattinson would be his little welp bitch, this dude could make anything wet.

And roddy mcdowall is great as peter vincent the vampire slayer. Fucking great film, one of my all time favs, get it watch it.
