Review of Fright Night (1985) by Matthew S — 21 Sep 2010
A pretty silly, very 80s vampire movie with a decent mix of cliche and originality. I couldn't really figure out what they were going for, though. Sometimes it seemed like it was taking a more comedic path, and then would take a turn with some pretty scary (but great) vampire makeup.
And some things just don't make sense, like why would you try to get vampire killing help from a guy who just plays a vampire hunter on TV? Why would said actor have all the props from his films? Why would a fan of those films need to ask someone else about how to kill a vampire? Why do some people turn into vampires in minutes, while others take hours? These are the pressing questions.
