Having only watched this as a required viewing before seeing the remake, I sure hope that the new one is better. I mean, I'm glad that these vampires stick to the mythology's rules, but it's pretty campy.

Don't get me wrong, it's better than those sparkling farcical vampire movies that prey upon the weak-minded, but it's pretty bland. It does embrace its cheesiness a bit, which certainly helps, but not enough to elevate it to fun.

Generally, I like watching old movies like this, in hopes of seeing a young star breaking into the business, but there aren't any here. I don't think this film helped any of the young actors break out, and the more seasoned actors didn't ring any bells.

If you like B-movie cheesiness, you might dig this one; otherwise put 'Nosferatu' in your Netflix queue again.
