A refreshing change of pace to the mass of typical slasher movies that the period threw out which this actually mocks at one point. The plot is simple stuff centred around a vampire moving in next door to a typical suburban family, the teenage son gets suspicious after witnessing some goings on with some late night coffin dealings, so he contacts TV horror host Roddy McDowall to help him out. Its good points involve the likeable cast, solid direction, and some great practical effects. And even though this isn't one of my favourite of the 80's horrors, it's still a cut above the average lot and should be tracked down by all vampire film fans.
