Review of Friends with Money (2006) by Doug H — 08 Jan 2008
There is a lot to like htere: the script, in particular, is intelligent and witty in a casual way, the stories are intricate and engaging as well as not entirely predictable in a Hollywood sense, and the performances are real and mature.
I liked much of the cinematography: one shot in particular of Joan Cusack near the end of the movie, when her character and her husband or driving home after a night out; it changes to the same shot of Frances McDormand--really superb editing and cinematography.
I have watched it twice, now, and really enjoyed it second time through. I could identify with these people.
