Review of Friends with Kids (2012) by Storytellershannon M — 25 Jun 2013
MINI REVIEW: slow start but gets better in time. Raises some interesting perspectives on marrying for the wrong reasons and being stuck and miserable (or not). Doesn't skimp on showing the bad side of raising kids but doesn't tell you to avoid doing it. Follows the usual Hollywood structure for the main characters but at least the sub characters do not. Bawdy humor means the prudes or those with kids shouldn't watch it. Impressive cast: John Hamms, Adam Scott, Kristen Wiig, Jennifer Westfeldt, Megan Fox and others.
CINEMATOGRAPHY: B; STORY/PLOTTING/EDITING: B; CHARACTERS/DIALOGUE: B to B plus; SOUND/MUSIC: C plus to B minus; RELATIONSHIP FOCUSES/KIDS: B; WHEN WATCHED: mid May 2013 (streamed); OVERALL GRADE: B.
