Review of Friendly Persuasion (1956) by John S — 22 Feb 2009
This is Gary Cooper at his best. It is a look at some of the hostility that Quakers faced during the Civil War in the north for abstaining from violence. The movie is funny at times and others deadly serious.
There were some historical inaccuracies with Morgan's Raiders, but this was common in 1950s cinema. It is an entertaining movie and one worth your time.
