Quite possibly the best friday movie, and the definative jason film. It's a shockingly well made and efficient horror film, the deaths are the best in the series (coutesy of the returning tom savini) you truly do get some barnstorming and slickly handled demise's, it's inventive, scary, funny and contains (finally) actual well rounded and sympathetic teen characters, a solid attempt to give us kids we reconise and give a shit about was made here, the stand out's being a debuting, pre back to the future Crispen glover as a highley likable geek trying to get laid and a very little corey feldman as one of the coolest kid characters ever, tommy jarvis (who goes on through different actors in following films as a prominent defeater of jason), a film and monster geek with a bedroom I wish i's had as a kid, filled as it is with cool halloween masks and lifelike monster puppets that he's created himself.

Also worth mentioning are barbara howard's tragic virgin and the character of teddy, who should be a totall dick and certainly tries to be, but is actualy a very sad dude who thinks he knows a thing or two more about girls than he dose and dies without ever getting laid, having characters like this hightens the tension, with something resembling real teenagers you can put yourself more in the terror of being young and ignorant, partying and drinking whilst a threat waits in the shadows watching you, waiting to punish your forbidden excess.

Director Joseph zito obviously gave a shit about delievering an actual good solid slasher thriller, it shows throughout, with confidently handled, slick direction, and strongly executed scenes, and we also get the ultimate jason, here finaly the brutal, unstoppable movie monster he is now known as, this is jasons peak film really.

This is also the most abundantly tit's and genral nudity filled friday of the lot, which is also very welcome. The freshest and most genuinly good friday the 13th of the series.
