Review of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) by Kevin R — 01 Nov 2012

This one is fun, but could have been better. The idea of taking Jason out of Crystal Lake and plopping him in Manhattan is an inventive one, but alas most of the film takes place on a cruise ship heading to New York and only a small portion is actually in the city and much of that takes place in the sewers.

.. a definite missed opportunity. Jensen Daggett does a good job as the "final girl" and this one essentially wraps up the series as this was Paramount's last Friday film... till this point the films had all led into the next film fairly seamlessly (with the notable exception of the "New Beginning") but this one was not followed up on when New Line took over the series.
