If you're in a silly mood, and you have someone to watch it with and an adult beverage to help the proceedings, there's enough cheesy acting and 80s cliches that you can have an enjoyable time watching this movie, but not if you're looking for scares and terror.
As many have griped over the years, the title misleads, as Jason spends most of his time stowed on a ship, and not in Manhattan at all until the final scenes of the movie.
As with all Friday the 13th movies, you get your share of gore and kills that are fun and enjoyable. If you have watched all the other Friday The 13th movies, you may as well go for it all and watch this one, but if you haven't, it's an instalment you can take a pass on.
