Review of Friday the 13th Part III (1982) by Andrew D — 11 Feb 2009
For the most part awful - acting, dialogue, script, scares, special effects...but it has its moments. I watched it in 3-D - the remastering is really well done, but the red and blue 3-D is the worst I've seen.
The 3-D works half the time at most and is a strain on the eyes. The attempts at 3-D (shoving things in the viewer's face) are hilarious. Actually, most of the film is hilariously bad. With that said the intro is cool, and the climax is somewhat exciting.
Kudos on the reference to Fangoria. It's also cool how Jason gets the mask in this one. There are a couple cool death scenes, but it's really tame by today's standards. For a much more effective '80s slasher, check out The Burning.
