Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by Jeff B — 16 Jul 2008
I dug up an old tape of MonsterVision with Joe Bob Briggs when he was doing a Friday the 13th marathon. So of course, a lot of the killing and gore was cut out, but oh well. So so sequel, it's basically trying to be like the first one, so it's using the exact same plot as the first.
The problem is there are far too many characters in this one. The reason the first was so good was that there were only about a 10 main characters in it, and pretty much everyone dies. With this one, there are more than a dozen people in the beginning, and a lot of them are never seen again, you expect them to die but they never show up to get killed.
It's nice that Jason's got that sack for a mask, looks a bit creepy (though the hockey mask is cooler). But again, everything is exactly the same as the first just not as good.
