Review of Frida (2002) by Alan J — 15 Feb 2008
Underrated, I thought... the visual metaphors and stylization can be ludicrously heavy-handed, but as a study of the delights and hardships of life, it's quite powerful. The battle between Frida Kahlo's strong soul and frail body, realized through the boldly serene visual style of her artworks, makes for a uniquely affecting biographical journey.
