Review of Frida (2002) by Tor M — 14 Sep 2010
A very interesting biography of Frida Kahlo's life. Her life seemed even more unique and interesting than her pictures. It made me wonder if the producers added som twenty first century-flavour over it to make it more interesting or if she really was so outrageous.
Hayek deliver a great performance and Molina also does his job well. The painting-animations that occured from time to time was marvelous and the cinematography was also very fine. Not a big shocker it won the makeup Oscar, maybe the most boring Oscar award there is.
Anyhow, a great piece that will school you in art history in a non-boring way.
