Review of Frida (2002) by Sabra E — 04 Jun 2011
A colorful, timeless film with a beautiful cast and great special effects, Frida combines art with great entertainment.
My mom brought home a large Toshiba flatscreen the other day, as a post baby/belated birthday gift, and to check out the crisp hi def quality, we watched Frida, while eating a sushi dinner, and all was going well through the trolley accident scene, with gold flakes and crushed bones.
Then the sex scenes took their turns, causing my mom at one point to say, "oh, she has big nipples"...whereby my husband went into the bedroom "to do some work" and we resumed until Trotsky came into the picture dressed as Geoffrey Rush.
At that point my mom went to bed full of sushi, fresh-faced from spending four hours at the Korean spa, as I persevered watching Frida's body fall apart and Alfred Molina get old.
