Review of Frida (2002) by Sanford R — 04 Jan 2009
The aesthetics of the film were wonderful, and the (great) music was important for keeping the rythm of the story flowing. Before watching the film I watched a documentary about Frida Kahlo, and in some aspects the documentary was by far better than the movie in conveying the essence of Kahlo's life and work.
Though, Salma Hayek was convincing, and actually scarily alike in movement and appearance. Worth watching, of course, if only for getting a glimpse at the facinating story of Frida Kahlo.
