The story about a psychotic necktie killer is as demented as anything the director ever did - but this time the impression is a little funny as his old school methods start to feel a little out of place in floppy-haired 1970's London.
Were the silly stylings deliberate? Yet the film does still have that certain Hitchcockian edge to it.
