Review of Frenzy (2015) by Emma L — 18 Feb 2013
A wonderfully trashy and exploitative movie from Hitchcock. Contains a genuinely graphic and disturbing rape scene but there is much to enjoy in the dark humour (the scenes of the detective enduring his wife's horrific French cuisine at home are especially amusing) and it has a brilliant final line.
The trailer, featuring Hitchcock floating on the Thames, is unique, funny and very memorable. One must forgive the 70s sexism rampant in the script and just enjoy a superbly camp thriller.
