As life faded from the artistic veins of Hitchcock, successively from Marnie to Topaz, a fresh breath of auteurist merit was both inhaled and exhaled for one more wild ride in Frenzy, one of the weirdest and wildest.
He reached for and used it all here before arriving on Family Plot, and the result is his cruelest, most violent, wickedly funny satirical macabre.
