In this movie, three things that happened were.

Erin Gruwell is a first time teacher in urban school and she is white while her student are colored and in gangs.

She has one white student, and many Black, Mexican, and Asian students. Many of them are involved in house arrests, juvenile delinquent, crimes, and gangs.

She teaches students about Holocaust, reading, writing, and life experiences.

When her students are sophomores, one of her students asked, "Will we have same class next year?" Then, Erin said she doesn't teach juniors & seniors but she filed a complaint with the Long Beach Unified School District asking why she can't teach juniors and seniors. The headmaster then said, "You can teach them from now and on." "She tells her students good news "I can teach you from now and on." Her students were so thrilled that she can teach them.

The themes in the story are racism white hate black people, students have gun in their pant, violence crimes and revenges by killing others because their friends are dead.

I like this movie because it's based on true story and she teaches a lesson to her students to stop violence and she wants them read, and write in their journal.
