These days it takes a lot for a hood movie to truly move people and inspire them into living a positive life, it's just sort of taboo because we all get that sort of "been there done that" feel nowadays. But this film could stand out today and always as a highly inspiring and educating film for all teens everywhere. I couldn't believe what I saw when I first watched this and ever since I feel smarter than I was before.... plus I actually read a lot more now.

Hilary Swank gives a great and peppy performance that you don't normally see after someone wins an Oscar, I guess she took the smart approach to her career. Not only her but the round out cast of generally unknown actors was just as appealing as her performance and they all keep us watching, just to see what we can learn together.
