Enjoyed the movie very much enjoyed the story it was bloody and gory at times but truly depicted a man with a conscience and a love for mankind what was so hard to keep their slaves this man realized it wasn't his fight trying to do the right thing to take a young man who had died to his mother to bury properly he was declared a deserter and the story evolves from there.

the back and forth to the story about his second son was a little distracting and the didn't explain enough. Was his other brother alive other than that the story was interesting actors did a good job with the tolls of war and McConaughey did a good job.
