Review of Free State of Jones (2016) by Calvin C — 08 Sep 2016

The intentions of being historically accurate are admirable. It's just that most of it is like a slow-moving history lesson. For every exciting set piece, there is 15 minutes of speeches and quiet talking. However, Matthew McConaughey is great as the rebellion leader. The entire cast is great. History buffs, especially Civil War buffs, will love the attention to detail to the story and characters. A good piece of American history, just not a great one.
