A great historical drama about one of the lesser known aspects of the Civil War, McConaughey gives a wonderful performance as the infamous Newton Knight. This is a gritty, real and un-Hollywood portrayal of history that feels, smells and tastes authentic - and is both harrowing and hopeful.
More historical dramas like this please.
