Review of Free Fire (2017) by Mrdr4Gon — 01 Jan 2018
A sharply written film about a single 70+ minute shootout after an arms deal gone awry. The strength really lies in the performances and wittily written script in particular. Tonally somewhere between Tarantino and Guy Ritchie but quite a bit more low-key.
The only real downside is the limiting nature of the film's premise. The film does drag at times where it feels like you're waiting for the next thing to happen and the characters aren't particularly memorable even if they are distinctive and well portrayed.
