Review of Free Fire (2017) by Richard S — 28 Mar 2018
I'm a big of Ben Wheatley's movies and it's a major tragedy it's taking me so long to watch his latest. Essentially it's a film about chaos. It takes place in the 1970's as two groups of very dodgy people meet in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere to buy a whole lot of weapons.
Unbeknownst to both parties, there are 2 people in the warehouse who hold a very serious grudge against one another which eventually leads to the deal going sour and the warehouse erupting in an explosion of gunfire.
The rest of the movie is about survival. It's not a deep movie but it is a very entertaining film that as usual is laced with Ben Wheatley's dark sense of humour.
