Review of Free Birds (2013) by Deon H — 22 Feb 2014
Free Birds comes across as yet another animated film. The animation is done decently, although there are parts that could be improved. Free Birds is in line with the "flock" of animated film, by introducing yet another unnecessary romance and with, believe it or not, a "tragic death" which was completely out of place. In the first act, the film introduces a few running gags, most of which weren't funny the first time it was done. To add insult to injury, the characters enjoy making witty remarks which really aren't all that entertaining. A few plot elements here-or-there could prove confusing to younger audiences, the main market of this film. If you thought that wasn't bad enough, several ideas introduced during its second act were never wrapped up, leaving older viewers in even more confusion. Add a dull soundtrack and you've got an easily forgettable film, worth nothing but the ten dollars or so you just wasted watching it.
Free Birds joins the flock of dry (like turkey) animated films. Not worth watching.
