Review of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) by Gus S — 05 Jan 2009
Incredibly disappointing finale to the series has all glitz and no substance. The bastard son of hundred maniacs has successfully killed every child in Springwood, turning it into a creepy ghost town. From the trailer, it appeared that the movie would go back in time and give the viewer a more in-depth look at Freddyâ??s life before he become the immortal dream killer.
Unfortunately, there are only brief flashback visions featuring Robert England sans makeup. The story doesnâ??t seem linked to the other installment at all including the unnecessary and inexplicable addition of Freddyâ??s daughter.
The only highlights of this entry are the best dream sequences of the series and a fun cameo by Johnny Depp who got his start in the first Nightmare film.
