Takes what we learned in the previous films, and the obvious set up from the last one (his son is born) and completely forget about that but add some back story, and that's what this film is.

Before I started watching this I thought to myself, "I bet this was made for the money" but I saw that there were no stars listed in the cast, so I half wondered if someone like... Johnny Depp... would make a reappearance to gain momentum for the film and it's wallet. Lo and fuckin' behold... he is in it.

Previously when Freddy invaded your dreams your "soul" or what have you, was transported into Freddy's world. But now I guess your entire body is transported? But no, they had sequences where their bodies were visible in real life... so pretty much no one knows what the fuck is up with these dreams anymore.

The film switches gears faster than a a cyclist on speed. That dude (who knows his name, fuck it) was the main character, right? Nope. Not half way through when they decide switching focus is a cool idea... and of course... who can have a slasher film series without 3D?... fuck this shit.

The only thing I enjoyed were the back story/flashback parts (which amount to about 4minutes of the entire film).

I don't know who Rachel Talalay is, but she sucks at directing, and even Robert Englund was bad in this (which is hard to do considering all he has to do is look mean and talk rough).
