Wow is this one so damn random. This was intended to be the final film, but obviously just like Friday the 13th this one definitely wasn't the last. The film takes place in 1999 and follows a random dude known as "John Doe" (Shon Greenblatt) who lives in the town of Springwood where Freddy has killed every person except for John and his mom.

Anywho we open on the film where John has been chased away from Freddy (Robert Englund). John wakes up with amnesia not knowing where he's from or even his own name. He has a newspaper article that shows his town and the disappearance of a girl.

He's soon picked up by the police and brought to a therapist named Maggie Burroughs (Lisa Zane) who helps troubled youth. Maggie decides to bring John back to Springwood in order to hopefully trigger his memories back.

Little do they know they have three stowaways aboard in their van. We have the tough Tracy (Lezlie Deane), hard of hearing Carlos (Ricky Dean Logan) and then stoner Spencer (Brecklin Meyer). They return to the town, but soon realize that theres much more to the town then the residents are talking about.

There are no children left and Freddy soon enough begins to haunt the kids dreams revealing a twist to everything. So I gotta say out of all the Nightmare on Elm Street films this is probably the least "scariest.

" The movie has some really shitty CG on top of that since this was intended to be seen in 3D it just comes off as ridiculously outdated too. Nothing much happens in the film and truthfully the plot takes a complete turn about an hour into the film and switches focus on an entirely different character.

I did enjoy the last 20 minutes though which I think redeems parts of the film by giving some background on Freddy's life which is actually cool since we haven't seen anything like that yet on these movies.

The film just has a really bad pacing. If it was like the last 20 minutes the entire time we would have had a classic. Overall, this one's hard to recommend since it's very much by the books and doesn't offer much of anything new.
