Parts of it were ok but as a whole, It just didn't live up. The first mistake was hiring a director that had no experience in the horror genre at all. The second mistake would be in the casting department.

I'd have re-cast pretty much every part of the film. There's a reason that they didn't bother making new films in either franchises for years and this is it.
