Review of Freaks (1932) by Conor M — 08 May 2009
The fact that this movie exists is incredible since today it would be considered socially unacceptable, but combine the oddity of the film with great imagery, and an amazing movie emerges. The dinner table scene and the final scene in the rain are filled with such great images that can't be forgotten.
Most of the performers in the movie were gathered from "freakshows" at the time and have long, interesting histories worth investigating.
