Review of Freaks (1932) by Tiberio S — 13 Nov 2017
Just wait until you see that scene at the end, with the freaks zeroing in - through cold, thunderstorm mud and turned over wagons - on their manipulative prey. Today it'd be cheated with state-of-the-art special effects, but with minimal resources, they used the real deal and created an effect that goes unrivaled.
It's been copied a hundred times since, but you won't believe when you see from 1932 the original inspiration in full form, and not just some early inception of a creep effect.
